New Experience

Jerking, speeding up then slowing down in haste, my body is thrown forward then back again along with my mom's. Eyes skimming the horizon, hands gripping tensely, palms and forehead sweating, my feet having methodic seizures of up, down. If only... I had done this before! If only... I didn't have a headache; If only... pedestrians and all the people in the world could just disappear for this moment in time! Oh, the joys of my first driving experience. Okay, I admit, even though I was nervous I had a great time with the small, blue, wrecked car and my mother guiding me, giving me tips and advice. I suppose that Dr. Ed. has made me exceptionally paranoid even when I'm not in a car.

Antelope Island

Today my family went to an island in the middle of the Salt Lake called Antelope Island. It is a natural preserve with antelope and... Buffalo!!! We got really close to a herd of them and they were so cool! Even though they were big and had large horns, they seemed pretty docile/gentle, from far away at least. Tricia also got a very cute and fluffy bison stuffed animal. Before sunset, we walked to the beach, which took a long time. It was interesting though, sometimes the sand was really soft, and other times it was covered in sharp, flat rocks.

Also, a comment on the music video of the week, "I'm So Lucky", I just happened to stumble across it (isn't surfing the net fun?=D ) while looking at other videos. I really like it because it is talking about positive self-talk and is very catchy. I don't recommend singing it out randomly though, because people might think you were full of yourself or just a wierdo. Haha, that doesn't mean I haven't already done it a few times. (=

What to do...

Well, I am starting to feel that my music video section is getting a little long. So, I was thinking that I would delete a few of them. What do you think? I don't want to delete any that people really like, so give me feedback! And hey, if I shouldn't delete any, then tell me. Also, I would LOVE to hear about songs that you like, and I will look up music videos. Either way, Please comment!

Southern Utah

My family went down to Southern Utah for these past few days where my dad has some land. We stayed in a cabin-hotel place called Pinewood Resort.Wow! So many ATV's! We went horseback riding, saw Navajo lake, and hiked up some of the cascade falls trail. It was a lot of fun, especially since most of my family was there! However, it's nice to be home and not be all dusty from the road. On the way back, we picked up Staci and brought her home. She had a lot of stuff though, and our car was packed with lots of boxes and packages.

My horses name was Charlie! Haha, I covered my dad in fallen bark from a tree while I waited for my mom to get back from the store.

Some picturesque scenes near our cabin.

EFY, "Masked Mormon"

I went to EFY this past week! Wow, so many people! I really enjoyed the classes, the dances, and just hanging out with my cousins and friends. =) We had great counselors who are always so cheerful.

One of the stories our session director, Brother Mcmullin, told was when he was on a mission. Him and his companion were sent to an area where no new converts had joined for a long time. As it turned out, the families in the ward didn't like each other and said mean things about each other. The 2 missionaries were trying to figure out a way to bring the ward together, but couldn't come up with anything. There were actually 2 return army guys that lived in the ward that the missionaries talked to about the problem. A few days later, one of the families found a plate of cookies on their doorstep with the note "from the Masked Mormon". Soon, everyone was trying to find out who this Masked Mormon was. The missionaries found out that it was the 2 army guys were the Masked Mormon. However they said, "everyone's starting to suspect us, so we need you two to take this plate of cookies at 8 to the stake presidents house while we're there." The stake president's house was on the third floor of an apartment, and it was winter day, so it was icy, and they had to not get caught. The two guys gave the missionaries camo hoodies, because, you know, suits and ties are kind of distinctive. Brother Mcmullin said, "So I got a long stick, placed the cookies, pressed the doorbell with the stick and dropped it, then ran as fast as I could. The kids came running out yelling, "it's the masked mormon!" and their dog joined in the chase too. However, they weren't caught, and no one ever found out exactly who the masked mormon was. But it didn't really matter, because everyone in the ward started to become the Masked Mormon to their neighbors, and the families started being kinder to one another.
I really liked this story, it shows how such a small act can bring people together. Wow what a long post!
